Building upon the success from the previous events, Beit Juhuro has organized five events during the month of February.
The whole team worked hard to make sure that each event ran smoothly and well organized.
It commenced with a Shabbaton in the beginning of the month at Beit Juhuro's Cultural Center on ave S. The Rabbis joined the Shabbaton and participated in a special Q&A session with the attendees. The program also included board games and catered meals especially for the event.
Rabbi Ronen Shaulov visited Beit Juhuro from Israel and gave a class on February 11.
Challah Baking was next. About 30 women participated in this event which also took place at Beit Juhuro. Each person prepared beautifully shaped Challahs which they could then take home for Shabbat.
The following week was a Rosh Chodesh night for the ladies with a class by Rabbi Zitron. Rabbi Zitron always mesmerizes the audience with carefully selected topics, great level of research and an energetic tone in his lectures.
Finally, on February 25th, just a few days before the holiday of Purim, Beit Juhuro Educational Center organized an event for the Gorsky-Kavkazi young professionals of Brooklyn. It was the second such event organized by Beit Juhuro in the past year with great success. More than 70 people attended the event.
The guests enjoyed great food, friendly environment, expanded their social circles and made new friends. A prominent magician-illusionist entertained the guests throughout the whole night and left the guests amused and at times stunned. A first of its kind Gorsky-Kavkazi dating app called Shori was unveiled at the event.
Shori combines the traditional way for people to meet their potential spouses – through a matchmaker, with the modern technology. We hope that the app will help match the singles in our community and lead to strong and happy marriages. The event concluded with a raffle with the participants winning gifts cards, Apple Watch and Amazon Echo.
Special thanks to all the people who organized, prepared and ran these events: Rabbi Ephraim Ilyaguev, Ziva Hanuka, Rachel Mordechay, Polina Isakova, Greta Davidov, Erica Avishalom, Hanna Ildatov, Jamie Abramov, Isay Ildatov, Arkady Isakov, Sevi Avishalom.
